DESIGN SYSTEM / UX/UI DESIGN
NN Group and National Nederlanden is a financial services company active in 11 countries. It provide retirement services, pensions, insurance, banking and investments to approximately 20 million customers Being officially hired as UX/UI Expert sounds challenging to say the least. See below how I'm doing my best about it.
Overview
I was hired in 2023 to be part of the TSI and Design System teams. TSI is a frontend development team that works with many of these 11 countries. The Design System team is responsible of creating and updating the NN guidelines. My in-between role impacts in these areas:
- Aligning countries patterns with the company design principles
- Couching teams about design thinking
- Ideating new features
Remote work with different cultures
Being responsible of getting aligned different teams from different countries may be challenging, and is for sure, extremely enriching. It's important to be open to listen each team and learn as much as possible of the differences before jumping into any idea.
