COFFEE MACHINE INSPIRED BY TEENAGE ENGINEERING

ART DIRECTION - UX/UI DESIGN - BRANDING

When I was working in Nacar Design as Lead UI designer I had the opportunity to work in coffee machine projects a couple of times. It's an exciting industry that I love, for this reason I've created a new project to share a few insights I learned in this projects.

WHY TO DO THIS?

I love what Teenage Engineering is doing, like any other designer out there, I guess. Nothing new there. But what if we created a coffee machine based on this company iconic design K.O. II?

Based on the most iconic interactions of the KO II screens I redesigned a coffee web app with basic controls, including levels, coffee recipe functionalities, serving and choosing menu and a few coffee related icons.

The inspiration came from old hardware, cyberpunk references and physical buttons, iPod style. I thought it made sense to create a non-touch screen to be even closer to these references.
