Brand Story

In the north of spain Sancheski was synonymous with monopatín during the seventies and eighties.

TOP ORANGE

Sancheski was a sport manufacturer family company created in the 1930s in Irún. Their first model was created in 1965, that’s barely 10 years after the first skate was created in California. It gives Sancheski the unofficial title of “first skateboard brand in Europe”, probably.

Their first models made of wood weren’t very successful but their plastic skateboard model called Top was a hit during the the first mid of the seventies. Specially the orange one.

Those things were pretty tough. I had the chance to try these things when I was a little kid, and that was around 10-15 years after my older aunt got it for her birthday.

In my generation Sancheski wasn’t very popular. But for sure was my gateway drug to skate, years before first Tony Hawk Pro was released.

With this background was funny for us to see so many brands right now selling skateboards with a design very similar to the classic Sancheski Top.
